For years now, the Saint Laurent Sac de Jour has been a popular choice and a staple piece in every designer handbag collection. It was only until recently that I was able to finally get my hands on this coveted piece. I spent months upon months researching the Sac de Jour to be sure that this bag would be suitable for my needs. Things became confusing because there are various kinds of leathers, material, sizes, and colors. I thought it would be best to share my research and my own experience to help others on their own Sac de Jour journey.
Materials:
I purchased the Baby Sac de Jour in grained leather. I chose the grained leather over the smooth leather just because I found that the smooth leather was too delicate for my taste. One thing I love about the Sac de Jour is that it can be worn as a casual bag but also still has that sophisticated feel to pair up with a dressed up outfit. For my personal use, I wanted to use the Sac de Jour as an everyday bag so with that being said the smooth leather was out. I've read many reviews online stating that the smooth leather was extremely prone to scratches and scuffs and if I'm going to pay for a designer item, there is no way it can get ruined. In addition, the Sac de Jour also comes in the embossed crocodile shiny leather that will typically cost $200-$300 more.

Sizes & Prices:
The Sac de Jour comes in four sizes.

Large: $3,350 (Grained Leather)
Dimensions: 14.2 x 10.7 x 7.4 inches

Interior:
- Adjustable crossbody strap that can be worn across the body or on the shoulder
- Removable lock (can be engraved no charge at purchase)
- Lock keys that can be attached to the interior with a snap
- Compression snap straps allow for expandable accordion-pleated sides
- Gold/silver toned hardware
- Suede/bonded leather lining
- Five feet at the bottom of the bag
- Zipper inner pouch that is detachable via buttons that snap on/off on the sides (not included with the nano)
I personally found that the Baby size fits me perfectly. The Small size was way too big for my frame. At 5'0 - 110 pounds it felt like the small overwhelmed me which is why I went for the next size down. The Baby is surprisingly roomy and I am able to fit more than enough in the bag. I am not someone who carries more than the essentials (chapstick, wallet, headphones, phones (2), lotion) in a bag so for someone who carries a lot with them daily, they might want to go for the Small.
While I've only had this bag for a short period of time now, I've noticed that the bag holds up well. I've heard a lot of rumors about Saint Laurent quality not being great but I have yet to experience this. Because this bag is still so new, I will update accordingly about how the wear and tear is. Overall, I would highly recommend the Sac de Jour to all who are debating on getting in. Feel free to ask me any questions and I'll be happy to answer them!
All my best,
Julie
